Three Wheeled Buggies
If you're looking for a buggy to run with or just a stroller that can be used for the neighborhood, three-wheeled buggies offer great mobility. Their compact design makes them easy to maneuver, even in tight spots.
If you are looking for an easy ride in your baby, opt for models with 360deg front wheels that can swivel. They are susceptible, however, to punctures. Be prepared with an emergency repair kit.
Frame made of sturdy material
New data show that three-wheeled buggies, that emblem of the noughties, which were more expensive than common sense, are in a steep decline. They have been replaced by four-wheelers that are able to handle a wider variety of terrain, yet still look stylish and easy to push.
The larger the wheels are, the better your buggy can deal with bumpy surfaces and uneven pavements. The larger wheels both rear and front, make it easier to maneuver and more stable while walking downhill or over difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy out with a newborn and 3 year old and found that it was able to withstand cobbles, grass, rough roads, dirt tracks, and kerbs. She said "it is solid to push and is very stable when traversing difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable, so require occasionally pumping) come with suspension built-in that was very comfortable for my kids.
Another thing to take into consideration is the size and shape. You want the seat to be big enough for your child to be comfortable and to allow them to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies will have a full lie-flat option while others will only allow a parent facing one.
The Roma Atlas is a great option for off-road and walking in muddy areas. It can be used as a one-person unit from birth, and then expands to accommodate two children as your family expands. It is suitable for infants and toddlers from birth to age 4. It includes a bumper and raincover, a new 5-point harness, and a big padded seat. The storage options are excellent too, with a decent-sized basket, zip pockets inside the hood, and an easy-to-access pouch on the back of the seat unit.
Wheels with a greater diameter
Larger wheels will give your buggy more stability while driving over rough terrain. This is perfect for buggies designed for off-road use. They also help you maneuver the pushchair in tight spaces. A lot of three-wheeled buggies come with swivel front wheels to aid you in maneuvering around corners with ease, whereas others are designed for running and come with fixed front wheels that lock to improve the speed and stability with which they can be driven. This can also help when you crash into an unintentional tree root or road, as the front wheel will rise up slightly to prevent you from hitting it.
Many 3 wheel pushchairs feature air-filled tyres. This means they are able to handle a variety of terrains and are much more flexible than 4-wheeler. They're also lighter. However, they're susceptible to punctures so you'll need to keep an repair kit, spare tube and pump in your bag.
Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and Venicci Carbo lux are some of our favourite 3-wheelers. Both buggies feature larger wheels that, as per MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on grass, gravel tracks and market town cobbles" and are able to effortlessly go up and down kerbs. They also come with a suspension system that in her words "smoothes out bumps extremely effectively".
The downside of having larger wheels is that they make some buggies quite wide and may struggle to squeeze through narrow spaces. This can be an issue if you're using it as an exercise bike or to maneuver through narrow doorways when out and out and about. Luckily, most models have small folding options that allow you to take off the front wheels for more compact storage.
Easy to Manoeuvre

One of the major advantages of a three-wheel buggy is that it is much easier to maneuver, especially with a child in tow. 3 wheel pushchair travel system are designed so that the front wheels rotate at a moment's notice, and are easy to maneuver, making them perfect for terrains that are difficult, such as parks, cobblestones, bumpy roads, and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tested a 3 wheeler with her infant and toddler and said: "The Terrain was a delight to maneuver on the terrain, with the swivel front wheel being especially helpful. I was also awed by the way it handled kerbs when using the hand-operated break. It was very stable for descending or on uneven terrain."
The only downside to this amazing maneuverability is that the larger wheels of the 3 wheel buggy might make it difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is something to keep in mind if your home area is one of the cities. If this is a problem then a four-wheeled buggy might be the better option for you.
Bumper bar
Bumper bars are the perfect method to shield your little one from bumps and scrapes when out and about. These bumper bars are simple to install and will make your child feel safe and secure out and about.
This bumper bar was designed to complement the sleek lines on your Slim Twin stroller. It has a soft, cushioned surface that offers a comfortable surface for your child to grasp onto during walks. The durable construction and sturdy design ensures that your child can enjoy a stroll without fearing of falling out of the buggy or leaning too far forward.
The sling's fabric is placed within the frame, not on top like the seat that is modular. This provides a lower center of gravity for your newborn at the perfect height and also delivers an excellent weight distribution, making it easier to climb over curbs (it is much easier to push the stroller up and over than you think). MFM reviewer Kath said it's excellent on cobbles and grass. It's also a great option for running thanks to its tyres that are filled with air and a lockable swivel wheel.
This bumper bar will make heads turn wherever it's used. It has a sophisticated and elegant design. It's available in a variety of colours and finishes to suit your style. The bumper bar is easily removed and installed with a quick-release mechanism. Additionally the bar is easy to clean and is made of durable materials that are simple to wipe down. This makes it a great option for families seeking a stylish and secure stroller accessory.
Comfort
A 3-wheel buggy provides the highest level of maneuverability and performance when going off-road. This kind of buggy is easy to steer and turn in a flash thanks to its perfect geometry engineering, as well as weight distribution.
The Sport's clever design places the fabric sling seat within the frame, not sitting on top as modular seats. This lets it have lower center of gravity which means it's easier to push, has a less weighty curb-pop (you don't have to exert the same effort to raise the buggy's hood over a curb), and offers greater stability and balance. And with the huge rear wheels that measure 16 inches with lockable swivel wheels on the front and tyres filled with air that require only occasional pumping for a bump free ride over rough terrain and a smoother and more comfortable jog.
The only stroller in our collection with a parent-facing seat that can also accommodate a car seat or carrycot, you can future-proof your family to enjoy every adventure - from the very first day and for years to come!
It's not the only reason you should love this buggy It's also a great way to get around - our MFM reviewer Kath was impressed by how spacious it is, too. There's an easily accessible large basket that's quite spacious for a buggy of this size. Additionally, there's a handy pouch on the back unit, and two smaller mesh pockets beneath the hood, where you can keep your keys and phone.
